Motivation and Support

I have a great group of friends. Most of them have been in my life for the last eight years. It seems like a lifetime. I don’t know where I’d be without them. Or who I’d be for that matter.

It’s very important to surround yourself with good people when you have goals and the drive to meet them. It is especially helpful if they are similarly goal oriented. It’s easier to keep going when you see others striving to get ahead just like you.

Roommate #1 is the self-proclaimed Guitar Wizard and spends pretty much every free minute he has on his business. If he’s not working on a guitar for a musician, he’s reading up to learn as much as he possibly can. He won’t turn down a job if he doesn’t know how to fix it. He’ll learn as he goes and then add to his list of skills. If you or anyone you know need some guitar work done, he’s your guy.

He inspires me and he’s the reason I keep track of all the work I do. It’s very satisfying to mark things off a to-do list and it really helps you stay motivated to see that you are actually getting stuff done.

Roommate #2 is a multitasking dream chaser. His first priority is becoming a fighter. He trains and works out in his free time; and even if he’s doing something else, you’ll see him throwing randoms kicks. He’s started a blog to review fights. And on top of all that he’s started working as a promoter to put together fights and music events.

He is the most hardworking person I know. He knows that nothing is given to you in life and you have to fight your way through to get yourself any kind of recognition. He is so inspiring and I strive to be more like him. His positivity is infectious and you can’t help but think you’re just one more day of hard work away from getting your big break when you’ve got him on your team.

Roommate #3 is the musician. The guitar player for my favorite local band Navajo. He has been aspiring to be in a successful band for as long as I’ve known him. He puts so much of himself into his band and I just know that one day it’s going to pay off. He has great business sense, and ever since he joined the band a few years ago they’ve been heading in a more positive direction.  He knows what needs to be done in order to get where he wants to be and he constantly pushes his bandmates to get there with him.

He is also very supportive of my dreams. He helps me brainstorm and makes sure I stay on track with my monthly and weekly goals. He doesn’t let me slack off or procrastinate. I have gotten so much more work done because of his presence in my life.

In conclusion, everyone needs a support team. Good, positive thinking people are a must have in your life if you have goals that you want to achieve. Don’t let anyone hold you back. Find the people that are going to help boost you up.
