I created a learning plan for this year and broke each quarter down by topic. The first quarter, I focused on the basics. Plotting, outlining techniques, and character development.
Going back to the basics was really fun. I worried there wasn’t anything more to learn of this stage, but I came across several golden nuggets of wisdom. I’ve created my own Scrivener template for outlining and I’m really excited to use it on my next new project.
I think the books i write now are going to be much stronger and have more impactful characters. With how nicely this first step went, I’m looking forward to continue learning this year.
I’m also really proud of myself for keeping with it for the entire quarter and getting it all done. Let’s hope I keep this momentum.
Check back Thursday to read about the books I tore through last month.
