About Me?

I’ve been spending time trying to revamp my website. All the changes are saved as a draft at the moment because I want to launch them all together. I think I’ve done a pretty good job and it’s almost ready, but… I can’t figure out how to change my “about me.”

I’m so bad at writing about myself. It always sounds so fake and cheesy. It’s partly from imposter syndrome and partly because, what do I even say?  Ha.

Anyway, I’ve flipped through a prompt book to try and get the ball rolling and decided to share a few of my answers here while I iron out the final draft of my “about me.”

What is your favorite way to spend a lazy day?

This is a two-part answer. Because first, I don’t know how to have a “lazy day.” When I have free time that I could use for a nap or a Netflix binge, I end up cleaning or working on something. I always feel like there is something I could be doing to be more productive. Deep clean the bathroom. Laundry. Sweep the floor. Write my book. Edit short stories. Do market research.

So, my favorite way to spend a lazy day would be to be super productive.

However, I would love to get to a point in my career that writing doesn’t have to be done in my free time. And in that case, a lazy day could consist of lounging with a book and a cup of coffee.

Come up with a mathematical formula to express something you know/believe.

New notebooks + nice pens + good coffee – cleaning duties = a perfect day 😊

What do you look forward to?

When I’m at work, I look forward to coming home to see my tiny human and snuggle on the couch 😊 I also look forward to my one day off a week. Even if I have a million things to do that day, at least it’s on my own time and not someone else’s. I also like the days I can go to the gym. A good workout really helps me relax and ignore the stress of life.

If I looked in your fridge right now, what would I find?

All the condiments. Seriously. All of them.

Orange juice and milk. Miller lite. A visitor’s forgotten bottle of wine. Left over nachos. My lunch for work. Eggs. Cheese. Bell peppers. Yogurt.

Write about something you would still buy if it cost twice as much as it costs today.

Coffee. That is one habit I don’t think I could ever give up. I’m cranky until I’ve had my first cup. I don’t feel alive if I don’t get around to drinking any.

The first morning we lived in the Fort Worth house, I unpacked half the kitchen just so I could find the coffee pot and a cup. I need a thermos large enough to fit the entire pot. The person who buys me one is my soulmate.

Coffee is my blood. Coffee beans are my birthstone.
