I don’t like to think of them as resolutions, but I do make specific goals every year. The difference is in the planning. It’s easy to say, “I’ll lose weight this year,” but if you don’t create a workout plan and change the way you eat, it probably won’t actually happen.Of course, I usually make a lot of plans around my author life. And the biggest one I have for this year is to do more to build my reader community (that’s you!) and put out more content. And as such, I’ve decided to make a few changes with my newsletter schedule. I’ve been sending emails every other week, but I’m going to change to weekly updates.Week one – I’ll tell you about what I plan to do this month or what I’ve accomplished recently. And I’ll include something about my kids or my dog or something else about my life.Week two – You’ll get some behind the scenes info about my current project. This might be a deleted scene, a character bio, or the intro to the first chapter.Week three – I’ll share one of the stories I’ve posted on Medium this monthWeek four – I’ll talk about the books I’ve been reading and link to my recent blog post with my book thoughts.Week five – (If there’s five weeks in the month) Something special like a discount code or price drop on one of my backlist.*If this isn’t something that interests you, I totally understand. Inboxes get full quick, so if you’d like to be moved to a separate list that only receives updates when I release a book, just let me know. |
